Xandre Vos

Born in Pretoria, Xandre Vos attended Graeme College in the Eastern Cape, turning out for Eastern Province Country Districts at the U18 Craven Week of 2014. Enrolling at Nelson Mandela University to study Sports Management, Vos immediately formed part of the title-winning Eastern Province team that dominated the U19 Currie Cup in 2015. An unmovable presence at the set piece, Xandre continued his form in the U21 Currie Cup, and it came as no surprise when he enjoyed a senior professional debut in the 2017 Supersport Challenge at just 20 years of age. He retained the number one jersey throughout the competition, enjoying a first senior Currie Cup start later that year.
Technically complete for such a young front ranker, Vos was called up to the Southern Kings Guinness Pro 14 squad in 2018, bringing superb versatility on both sides of the scrum. He soon developed a reputation as a destructive ball-carrier with a jaw-dropping work ethic, but the end of the Kings’ time in the competition led Xandre to join the ambitious False Bay RFC in Cape Town. Mature beyond his years and blessed with first-class experience to match, Xandre Vos was unable to take up an opportunity at the MLR’s New England Free Jacks due to the Covid-induced lockdown, but he rebounded with a rejuvenating move to the legendary C’Chartes in Fédérale 1.
