Yet another Pacific Islander blessed with an incomparable skillset, Timilai Rokoduru burst onto the international stage at the 2012 World Rugby U20 Championships. A debut on the wing against Wales was just the beginning; he repeated the feat in 2013, this time starting in four fixtures at fullback and showing all the counter-attacking prowess to catch the eye of Europe’s biggest clubs. Later that year, Rokoduru embarked on a French adventure at Pro D2’s Albi, where he alternated between left wing and right and scored on his senior professional debut at just 20-years-old.
The following season saw Timilai play more than two thousand minutes, starting in all 28 fixtures and cementing his place as a crowd favourite. A powerful ball-carrier who can brush off defenders at will, it came as no surprise that coaches decided to experiment with Rokoduru at inside centre in 2016, where his route one approach was coupled with a swift step and all the offloading skills that one can expect from a Fijian outside back. It came as no surprise when Top 14 clubs came calling, and after a stint with LOU and Soyaux-Angouleme, the speedster signed with SU Agen, where he has remained ever since. Despite his club struggling in the 2019/20 season, the 27-year-old averaged over 14 metres per ball carry, smashing past the advantage line at will.
