Shaun Adendorff

Shaun Adendorff
Biography

A product of Glenwood High School in Durban, Shaun Adendorff represented The Sharks at the U13 Craven Week and U16 Grant Khomo Week. Even as a teenager, Adendorff drew attention for his uncompromising physicality. Ever the humble performer, he garnered considerable interest from the Blue Bulls, who admired his abrasive style of play, all whilst maintaining his discipline and composure.

It came as no surprise that Shaun asserted himself in South Africa’s title winning World Rugby U20 Championship team of 2012, but he showed his true versatility by earning selection for the South African Sevens squad. A stint with the ambitious Boland Kavaliers followed, before the Bulls once again sought his services in Pretoria. Fast, aggressive, and ruthless at the breakdown, Adendorff joined Pro D2 outfit Aurillac in 2018. His time in France has brought the best out of Shaun and his try-scoring record in 2019/20 stood at an incredible eight touchdowns in the first eleven games of the season.
