A product of Muir College in the Eastern Cape, Luxolo Koza represented Eastern Province at two consecutive U18 Craven Weeks, whilst also having the unprecedented honour of playing in the U19 Currie Cup for three seasons. So athletic was the dominant front ranker that he not only impressed against props three years his senior, but Koza also turned out as a hard-carrying loose forward in the U19 Currie Cup of 2012. Seeking a fresh challenge after school, Lux moved to Kimberley to join the ambitious Griquas, where he initially starred as a back rower in the U19 Currie Cup, before earning a senior professional debut just a year later in the Vodacom Cup.
Despite his ball-handling talents and mobility, Koze commit his future to the front row, a decision that paid dividends when he soon established himself as a loosehead prop to be reckoned with. After three seasons with Griquas, Koza enjoyed a short sojourn at the Pumas, before enjoying significant game time at the SWD Eagles, helping the team win the 2018 Currie Cup 1st Division. Always willing to test himself against the best in the business, the experienced 25-year-old joined the Valke in their Global Rapid Rugby campaign.
