HUW JONES

Born in Edinburgh, Huw Jones moved to England at a young age and attended Millfield School. A gap year in South Africa saw him turn out for the UCT in their victorious 2014 Varsity Cup campaign, resulting in selection for the Western Province U21 & Vodacom Cup teams in quick succession. Despite competing with numerous world-class centres, Huw took his opportunities and featured in three Stormers Super Rugby campaign. A highlight was his four tries in a game versus the Southern Kings and he took this form into the 2016 Currie Cup, scoring seven tries and being nominated as Currie Cup Player of the Year.
In 2016, Huw made his starting home debut for Scotland against the Wallabies and showed his class by scoring two tries in a spectacular Man of the Match performance. A further brace followed in the famous 25-13 victory over England in the 2018 Six Nations, his efforts helping Scotland to a first Calcutta Cup win in a decade. Jones made a permanent move to Scotland in 2017, when he signed for the Glasgow Warriors. Huw has recently shown some of the best form of his career, winning the Glasgow Warriors Player of the Month award for December 2019.
