Dylan Sage

Dylan Sage
Biography

A product of Wynberg Boys High School, Dylan Sage enrolled at the University of Cape Town after completing his schooling. Although he did not feature for Western Province as a schoolboy, Sage’s hard work paid dividends as he overtook players with big reputations, earning selection in the ABSA Currie Cup competition. He made the most of the opportunity afforded to him by the Varsity Cup and after some impressive showings, Dylan was invited to train with the Springbok Sevens squad.

He thrived in the intensity of the HSBC Series, and won bronze medals in both the Sevens World Cup and the 2016 Rio Olympics. Twice selected for the annual HSBC World Series Dream Team, Sage joined the Blue Bulls Currie Cup squad in 2018 and made his Super Rugby debut a year later. Equally skilled at inside centre, outside centre or on the wing, Dylan’s tenacity in contact and experience under pressure has seen him flourish in some of rugby’s toughest competitions.
