Dehan Kruger

Dehan Kruger

Having first represented Western Province at the U13 Craven Week, Dehan Kruger enrolled at Boland Landbou, one of South Africa’s leading agricultural colleges, which has produced numerous professional tight forwards. Kruger returned to his hometown to complete his schooling at Hoerskool Strand, where he showed his all-round athleticism by thriving in both cricket and athletics. It was only once Dehan joined Helderberg Rugby Club that he decided to concentrate on rugby, winning the Player of the Year Award and numerous others, all whilst dominating the WP Super League A as both a loosehead and tighthead prop.

So impressive was Kruger that Springbok Scrum Guru Daan Human sung his praises after watching a local club game, and Dehan was summarily drafted into the Western Province squad for the Supersport Challenge. Despite being considered a ‘late developer’, Kruger’s ability to buckle opposing props with raw power sees him perfectly suited to any squad looking to establish dominance at the set piece. Aside from these traditional prop traits, Dehan also possesses alarming speed off the mark, and all the offloading skills that suggests he is well suited to the modern game. With humility, enthusiasm, and brute force in abundance, Dehan Kruger is a tight forward with game-changing x-factor.
