Dalton Davis

A product of HTS Daniel Pienaar in the Eastern Province, Dalton Davis first represented the EP Kings at the U16 Grant Khomo Week, before moving to Pretoria to sign with the Blue Bulls. He featured for both the U19 and U21 Currie Cup, as well as playing for the powerful Tuks team that reached the final of the 2011 Varsity Cup. Returning to the Eastern Cape in 2013, David was included in the EP Kings Currie Cup 1st Division squad, before quickly being lured to the Premier Division by the ambitious Griquas.
A stint with Italian Top 12 club L’Aquila followed, but its in France that Davis has truly thrived. First making his mark for Fédérale 2 club Decazeville, Dalton’s Trojan-like defence and route one ball-carrying impressed Fédérale 1’s SC Graulhet, where he proved to be a fan favourite at the Stade Noël. Often called upon to field kicks and launch counter attacks from deep, Davis has a running style in the mould of Duane Vermeulen, leading RC Châteaurenard to sign the destructive loose forward ahead of the 2019/20 season.
