A product of the Western Cape, Cornal Hendricks climbed the ranks at the Boland Kavaliers, catching the eye of (then) SA Sevens Coach, Paul Treu in the process. Hendricks was drafted into the Blitzbokke Squad in 2011 and with an electrifying combination of pace and power, was destined to break into the fifteen-man code at the highest level. The Cheetahs agreed, signing Cornal in time for the 2014 Super Rugby competition, where he excelled for three memorable seasons.
Hendricks made his Springbok debut during the 2014 Autumn Internationals, where he thrived on the pressure and intensity of the biggest stage and scored five tries in twelve tests. Cornal signed with the Stormers ahead of the 2016 season, but health issues unfortunately meant that he was unable to play. Having consulted some of the best doctors in the field, he was given the all-clear to return to action and after joining the Bulls in 2018, where he has once again shown his versatility by featuring for the Super Rugby franchise at both centre and on the wing.
