CAMERON LINDSAY

A former student of the prestigious Michaelhouse School, Cameron Lindsay formed part of a highly successful schoolboy team, culminating in his first taste of provincial selection at the U18 Craven Week of 2009. So impressive was Lindsay in the colours of the Natal Sharks, that Western Province aggressively recruited the young second rower, leading to twelve appearances in the title winning U19 Currie Cup campaign of 2010. Renowned for his intelligence and ability to control the set piece, Lindsay initially attended Stellenbosch University, before making a name for himself at NMMU during the 2014 Varsity Cup.
Cameron thrived in the pace of the dynamic competition, and his first senior provincial cap (in the 2014 Vodacom Cup) soon followed. The physically imposing Lindsay gained a reputation for putting his body on the line and marshalling the lineout (in the Victor Matfield mould). He earned a deserved Super Rugby callup to the Southern Kings squad, but an untimely injury hampered his progress. Seeing tremendous value in a mature tight forward approaching his prime, the ambitious Mpumalanga Pumas signed Cameron ahead of the 2017 Currie Cup, whilst he has also since trained with the German national squad.
