A product of Glenwood High School in Durban, Shaun Adendorff represented KZN at U13 and U16 level, but was overlooked for the Craven & Academy Week teams. The Blue Bulls had taken notice however, and Shaun fitted in to the abrasive style of the Pretoria-base union.

After representing his country at both U20 and Sevens level, Adendorff signed with the ambitious Boland Kavaliers, forming a vital part of their Currie Cup Premier Division campaign. Fast, aggressive, and ruthless at the breakdown, the Openside Flanker returned to the Bulls in 2017 and featured in both their Super Rugby and Currie Cup campaigns.
